Common Questions
Custom logo mug FAQs
Everything people usually ask before starting a custom mug program with JJ Potts. Still have a question? Request a quote or call 801-487-1128, Mon–Fri 9am–5pm MT.
What is the minimum order for custom logo mugs?
JJ Potts custom logo mugs have a minimum order of 24 mugs, and 24 per glaze color you choose. The program is built for ongoing wholesale runs and reorders — restaurants, coffee shops, hotels, and corporate gift programs — rather than one-off pieces.
How much do custom logo mugs cost?
Custom logo mug pricing is tiered by quantity and options, with a one-time setup fee for your artwork. Because every program differs in quantity, glaze, and shape, JJ Potts provides exact pricing by quote — usually within one business day of your request.
How is my logo applied to the mug?
Your logo is glazed permanently into a medallion on the mug and fired into the surface above 2,000°F — it is not a printed decal that peels or fades. The artwork becomes part of the stoneware, so it survives years of dishwasher use and gets better with wear, not worse.
How long do custom mugs take to make?
Standard lead time for custom JJ Potts mugs is about 4 weeks from sample approval. New programs include a sample run first so you can approve the glaze and logo placement in person. Rush timelines are sometimes available depending on current studio capacity.
Are JJ Potts mugs dishwasher and microwave safe?
Yes. JJ Potts mugs are handcrafted stoneware fired above 2,000°F, which makes them durable, dishwasher safe, and microwave safe. Because the logo is glazed into the clay rather than printed on top, it does not wear off in the dishwasher.
Where are JJ Potts custom mugs made?
Every JJ Potts mug is wheel-thrown or hand-cast in our family studio in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA — not made overseas and not stamped out in a factory. The studio has handcrafted ceramics since 2001 for clients including Yellowstone National Park, Black Rifle Coffee, and Alta Ski Area.
What can I customize on a JJ Potts mug?
You can customize your logo or artwork, the glaze color (37 hand-mixed colors or a custom match), the mug shape (Classic, Diner, Modern, Ranch, Regal, or Soup Bowl), the size (12 oz or 16 oz), and the medallion style. Every order is made to your specifications.
